Stu Ungar


 

Stuart Errol "The Kid" Ungar was born on September 8, 1953 in New York and died on November 22, 1998, was a fabulous professional poker player with five WSOP bracelets won.

 

Ungar became a professional player at just 14 years, one year after the death of his father, and also because his mother suffered from a chronic illness and thus have to help support the family, at age 15 left school to win a Gin Rummy tournament and win $ 10,000 without losing a single hand. In 1976 he was playing for Las Vegas in 1980 won his first main event of the World Series of Poker and again in 1981 and 1997.
