Robert Varkonyi


Robert Varkonyi was born in 1961 in New York, United States of America, he is a professional poker player who surprised everyone by winning the main event World Series of Poker in 2002, raising $ 2 million.

 

Varkonyi began playing poker in 1983 while still studying at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), and after graduate worked for years at a bank in Brooklyn before he started playing live poker tournaments, and in 2002 stunned the world because he was completely unknown in the World of Poker main event and won the WSOP winning his first bracelet and 1 single to date, having been in position more money in two tournaments so far.
