NBC Cancels Heads-Up Championship


NBC cancels the most popular poker tv show

 

One of the most popular poker shows and was on the air for the past 7 years, was canceled by NBC, announced the Director of Communications at NBC Sports Section - Adam Freifeld.

 

There is still some hope that is just to cancel the 2012 edition, because there is the possibility of returning in subsequent years.

 

This tournament was accessed by invitation only and all players 64 years fighting for the title of the NBC Heads-Up Championship. The list of winners is impressive:

 

Phil Hellmuth - 2005

Ted Forrest - 2006

Paul Wasicka - 2007

Chris Ferguson - 2008

Huck Seed - 2009

Annie Duke -

2010 Erik Seidel - 2011

 

As a program designed to captivate audiences, in addition to top professionals many celebrities were invited, cases of Brad Garrett, Jason Alexander, Shannon Elizabeth and Don Cheadle.

 

Among the many reasons for the cancellation of the 2012 edition, has been the main fruit of Black Friday, as both PokerStars and Full Tilt were the main sponsors of the event.

 

Since Black Friday this is the third program dedicated to poker in the United States canceled after the Poker After Dark and PokerStars Big Game.
